Whether you call them Lightning Bugs or Fireflies, collecting them in glass jars is one of the simple joys of childhood. Nostalgic summertime. I loved collecting lightning bugs, but even better was the release, it never felt right to imprison them. This painting represents freedom. It also glows in the dark.
